Weatherdek Is Green

Designed with Sustainability in Mind

Weatherdek is engineered as a durable, waterproof membrane with sustainability built into its lifecycle. Manufactured from PVC, a material well suited for recycling, virtually all trim and production waste is reprocessed into other PVC products. This approach diverts tens of thousands of pounds of material from landfills and reduces the need for additional raw resources across manufacturing processes.

Fewer Materials, Smarter Construction

Unlike traditional roof deck assemblies that require multiple layers for waterproofing and surface protection, a Weatherdek membrane performs both functions in one system. It serves as a roofing-grade waterproof layer and a durable, slip-resistant walking surface, reducing material use, installation complexity, and transportation demands. The result is a more efficient solution for walkable roof decks with a smaller environmental footprint.

Long-Term Performance Reduces Environmental Impact

With more than 40 years of proven use, Weatherdek systems are designed for longevity and minimal maintenance. By protecting the building envelope from rain, wind, snow, and ice, the system helps prevent premature repairs and replacements—saving materials, energy, and labour over time. For architects, engineers, and builders, it’s a practical choice that supports durable construction and responsible resource use.

Real Projects and Real Inspiration

Seeing completed projects makes it easier to imagine what’s possible. The Weatherdek Gallery showcases real homes across Canada—balconies, patios, rooftop decks, and outdoor spaces built for real weather.
